A single-acting hydraulic cylinder is a piston-type hydraulic cylinder with a piston rod on one side that can only supply pressure oil to that side. Its piston working stroke is unidirectional, and the return stroke relies on a return spring, its own weight, or external loads to be realized. The single-acting hydraulic cylinder only allows oil flow in a single chamber to complete unidirectional movement. This type of hydraulic cylinder provides working pressure oil only on one side, while the other end is in contact with gas, and its thrust and speed are affected by friction losses and hydraulic oil leakage. Compared to double-acting hydraulic cylinders, the latter requires alternating oil supply to both chambers to achieve bidirectional movement.
